ShoreBank Pacific's affiliate, Ecotrust, has launched a community awareness program to engage the citizens of Salmon Nation and encourage all of us to think and act responsibly within our bio-region. These broad-based efforts offer the most hope that humans can again show respect for the salmon as the fabric of our way of life.

By promoting the notion of Salmon Nation - Ecotrust's bioregional citizenship program - ShoreBank Pacific hopes to inspire a sense of pride, citizenship and responsibility in the people that live in this region. Our goal is to create a citizenry that makes behavioral choices that contribute to enhancing the health of whole watersheds and the economies of the people that live in them.*

ShoreBank Pacific is issuing the Salmon Nation Visa Card in conjunction with TCM Bank (Total Card Management). TCM is owned by the Independent Community Bankers Association. Fifty percent of the income received from the Salmon Nation card will go to the Salmon Nation campaign. ShoreBank Pacific receives $20 for each new card, plus 20% of the interchange income (currently at 1.54 % of total purchases). Half of these amounts will go to Salmon Nation (minus the cost of the custom salmon nation card).
