Oregon’s rural communities and natural beauty are an essential part of what makes this state unique. Leaders around the state, concerned about the natural areas in and surrounding their communities, have reached out to volunteers and organizational partners to encourage environmental stewardship through a successful program that is now several decades old.
These projects not only improve the environmental health of the community, but also help to increase economic stability and bring volunteer resources to each project area. When local leaders in Oregon want assistance organizing invasive weed pulls, litter and illegal dumpsite cleanups, or native tree and shrub planting, many come to SOLV for support.
Join local leaders and SOLV for Earth Day on Saturday, April 17th. There are 125 community projects taking place throughout Oregon. For more information or to find an Earth Day activity in your area, visit SOLV.
